Beauty ABC for Moms

Last week we had a chance to gather lovely moms to sit together and learn the basics of skin care and makeup.

Lady Bernabe, a professional makeup artist to public figures and brands, had all of us shaking our heads with each tip and technique she shared. Definitely an a-ha moment for us all.

Who better sits on her makeup chair other than her fave muse? ♥︎

The products and procedure are as follows:

1. Prep:

Voila! Post Party Beauty - Makeup Remover

Lady tip: "The key to flawless makeup is a well nourished skin. Always start with a good skin care routine. Make sure your face is clean, toned, and moisturized before applying makeup."

She used the post party beauty to wipe my brows off, and to make sure my skin is toned and hydrated. Yes, only one product to do all of that!

Voila! Postparty Beauty available on itsoilyouneed.online

2. Set:

Voila! Makeup Setting Spray

- a natural and organic alternative to other brands in the market. Made only with vegetable glycerin, witch hazel, tea tree and lavender essential oils, just what your skin needs to hold together that beautiful look.

3. Primer:

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer

So we asked if it really is necessary to apply a primer before any other product. According to Lady, primer adds a glowing base to the skin, making your foundation look fresh and skin-like. It also is a good barrier between your skin and makeup.

We also asked if it's okay to use moisturizer as a primer, and good thing, it is!

4. Foundation:

Makeup Forever Ultra HD

Why Lady likes this product:

It's buildable from medium to full coverage, semi matte finish that looks like second skin.

She prefers using a damp sponge to apply and spread the product.

5. Corrector:

Pixi Brightening Peach

-A hydrating corrector used to correct discolorations, dark spots, dark undereyes. Applied before the concealer.

Note: Use GREEN for acne marks, scars, redness.

6. Concealer:

Urban Decay Naked Concealer

-It's important we consider the liquid type for dark circles since the skin around the eyes is 10x thinner.

7. Powder:

Laura Mercier Transluscent Setting Powder

-Why the setting powder? To set and mattify your makeup.

Just roll and press over the face to set your base.

8. Brows:

K-palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Pen in 01

Why Lady likes it

It creates hair-like strokes, great for filling in sparse brows.

9. Eyes:

Tartelette All Matte Palette

- Light colors on the lid to brighten and highlight the eyes. Darker color on the crease to define and contour. Opt for neutral tones for more natural look.

10. Eyeliner:

KPalette Eyeliner in Natural Black

Lady Tip: Don't worry, it gets better every time

11. Bronze/Contour:

Nars Laguna

-a semi matte taupe powder ideal for contouring and bronzing the outer parts of the face. Best to apply on the hollow part of your cheeks, just below the cheekbone, to define and sculpt the face. Also used to make the nose look slimmer.

12. Blush:

Glossier Cloud Paint in Haze

- Dot over the cheeks and blend.

Why Lady likes this product:

It gives a very natural flush of color.

13. Highlight:

Laura Mercier Highlight 01

-a wearable everyday highlight, no glitter

Lady tip: knowing where to highlight can give you that luminous, youthful glow; with defined cheekbones, fuller lips, and brighter eyes.

14. Lipstick:

Charlotte Tilbury in Pillowtalk

MLBB (my lips but better) shade

Lady used Mac SPICE lip liner as the lip color base to make it last long, even without retouch.

15. Set:

Voila Makeup Setting Spray

- The second and penultimate step in our makeup routine. This weightless mist formula makes sure your makeup stays on point while protecting your skin from bacteria and oily build up. Gives you that dewy finish too!

..And when all is said and done, the curtains closed, and oops before you switch the lights off, you have to wipe any trace of makeup off your face. Followed by the cleanse, tone, and moisturize routine before finally hitting the sheets. Hassle, right? Especially after a day full of fun and glamour and the only thing you want to do is daydream about the thrill of it all.

Doesn't really sound exciting as the process of putting on makeup, but is as essential. As what our makeup guru sais: you can have the best tools and products but with unhealthy and dull looking skin, they're of no use.

So remember our skin mantra:

Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize

Good thing nowadays we can do all of that using only Voila's makeup remover.

Now even post part beauty is as simple as ABC.
